The most terrible food news

Once in a while, while perusing the day's food news, we'll come across a headline so terrifying, it shakes us to the core full lace wigs. Want to know what today's shocker was? Click through to find out.
Margaritas
Seriously. This headline: "Mexican Mob Holds Margaritas Hostage" made me panic. What if there were no more margaritas? Could we really survive a margarita-free summer?
Thank goodness, though, it seems that margaritas themselves aren't what's being held hostage -- but, sadly, limes are.
According to Bloomberg Views, organized crime in Mexico is targeting lime-growers -- blocking roads and extorting truck drivers Antique jewelry, preventing them from passing.
"Lime prices have risen more than 200 percent since December to 80 pesos ($6.10) a kilogram, higher than Mexico's daily minimum wage," Bloomberg reports. Limes alone were responsible for a third of last month's consumer price index increase. The lime crisis is no joking matter in a country where citrus fruit is such a popular condiment that it ranks as the equivalent of mayonnaise in the US Outsourcing payroll."
What would you do if someone held your mayonnaise hostage! #SaveLimes.
